The Herndon Festival ramps up the FUN for kids! Families can enjoy a variety of FREE arts and entertainment activities. 

Children's Hands-On Art Area

Arts Herndon produces the Children's Hands-On Art Area at the Herndon Festival on Saturday and Sunday. The Children's Hands-On Art Area will again be located in the Kid's Alley at Station and Lynn Streets.

The Children’s Hands-On Art tent will be filled with lots of fun and surprises for young children. Make a rattle drum, music shakers, playful animal pals, paper flowers, paper mobiles or a mini paper lantern.  Have your face painted! 

Enjoy over a dozen unique and fun crafts for children. Come and experience what wonders you can create in the Children's Hands-On Art Area this year at the Herndon Festival and remember - it's FREE! 

Kids' Alley Entertainment 

The Kids' Alley is located near the Children's Hands-On-Art Area and it is full of surprises and excitement. A variety of roaming entertainers will be on hand to interact with Festival goers and best of all make you giggle. Click here for a schedule of entertainment.

Model Train Display

The Washington, Virginia, & Maryland Garden Railway Society creates an amazing garden train display interwoven around colorful flowers and landscaping. Stop by and visit the display located next to the Depot Stage. The display runs on Saturday and Sunday. To learn more about this organization visit http://www.wvmgrs.org/.

Fireworks Displays

Enjoy our fireworks displays on Thursday night and Saturday night. Saturday is choreographed to music. Shows will start at 9:30pm.

Volunteer Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to acquire community service hours for high school, college or other service organizations. Girl and Boy Scout troops are especially welcome to volunteer and service patches will be provided. Children's Hands-On Art area accepts volunteers 12 years and older.  Volunteer times are flexible and are usually assigned in two-hour shifts.eoiroei

Hands-On Art Hours

This area is  located in the Ahmed Lot at the intersection of Station & Lynn Streets. This area is open on Saturday & Sunday. 

Saturday: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Sunday: 11:00 am - 5:00pm

First Aid Services

First aid services are located on the W&OD Trail and are donated by the Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co. Inc. with assistance from other Fairfax County Volunteer Fire Departments.
