K-9 2K & Doggie Expo
A K-9 2K Dog Walk & Doggie Expo will be held as part of the Herndon Festival on Saturday, June 5, at Bready Park, 814 Ferndale Avenue near the Herndon Community Center. The walk will begin at 9 a.m. and the Doggie Expo will run from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Bark 'N Bubbles and All Friends Pet Care are the proud sponsors of the K-9 2K & Doggie Expo.
The first 100 participants who register will receive a goodie bag and special gift.
The dog walk will begin and end at Bready Park, 814 Ferndale Avenue next to the Herndon Community Center and travel around residential streets in Herndon. For safety and the respect of private property, dogs must stay on sidewalks throughout the walk. There will be "doggie" water stops along the course. After the walk, your dog can splash around in the Pool Splash Zone and you can spend some time visiting our Doggie Expo, featuring many pet themed vendors. The Doggie Expo will be held on the softball field at Bready Park.
The entry fee is $15 before May 30 and $20 from May 31 – June 5. There is a $10 fee for each additional dog from the same household.
Two Ways to Register:
1. Preregister is preferred. You can use a registration form or you can register online at http://bit.ly/K92K_registration. You will be prompted to create a customer Id and password. Use registration code #0903.912 for 1st dog and #0903.913 for 2nd dog.
2. Event day registration and doggie bag pick-up from 8:15 AM – 8:45 AM on Saturday, June 5
Guidelines for Participants
- Dogs must be at least four (4) months of age and current on their rabies vaccinations.
- Dogs (and their walkers) should be in good physical condition for this walk.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
- No Flex leashes/retractable leads or leashes longer than six (6) feet.
- No female dogs in heat.
- All dogs must wear ID tags and have a valid dog license.
- Owners are required to clean up behind their dogs.
- Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by participating adult
- Walk officials reserve the right to disqualify those not following the guidelines.
For safety and respect of private property, owners and dogs MUST stay on the sidewalks throughout the walk.
Please note: No animals, except seeing eye dogs and service animals are allowed in the downtown Herndon Festival area.
