Town of Herndon Parks & Recreation Department Announces Herndon Festival Permanently Canceled

It is with deep regret that the Town of Herndon Parks & Recreation Department announces the permanent cancellation of the Herndon Festival, a cherished tradition in our community.

After over 40 years of bringing joy, entertainment, and a sense of unity to our town, we have made the difficult decision to conclude the legacy of the Herndon Festival. This decision was reached after thoughtful consideration of various factors, including logistical issues regarding staff, volunteers, and security.

"The Herndon Festival has been a cornerstone of our community for over 40 years, and its legacy will forever hold a special place in our hearts,” said Cindy Roeder, Director of Parks & Recreation for the Town of Herndon. “We are grateful to everyone who has supported and contributed to this beloved event."

Throughout its existence, the Herndon Festival has been a source of cherished memories, an avenue for community engagement, and a celebration of the diverse spirit that defines our town. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been a part of the Herndon Festival's journey.

While this marks the end of an era, we look forward to finding new ways to continue fostering the sense of community and togetherness that the festival embodied.
